Get ready for The Roller Coaster Challenge – an exciting engineering and construction-based team-building experience where creativity, communication, and problem-solving take centre stage!

Can Your Team Build the Ultimate Thrill Ride?

In this high-energy challenge, teams must design, build, and test a working roller coaster track.

One that will successfully carry a "train" from start to finish without human interference.

With loops, twists, and daring drops, can your team pull off the most elaborate and thrilling ride?

How the Roller Coaster Team Challenge Works

The activity is split into a number of sections and the overall group works on different sections of the construction.

Planning Phase - Each team must come up with how best they'll build their section of the overall track using the materials provided.

Design Phase - Teams must each have a unique element in their section, whether that be banked corners, sharp drops or even a loop the loop!

Construction Phase – Once designs and plans have been signed-off by health and safety, each small team will have a designated building area, plus materials they can use to bring their designs to life. They must work together to design a fully functioning roller coaster section.
Collaborate Across Teams – Top notch communication and planning are essential for the construction phase. Each group must ensure their section connects seamlessly with the others while complying with communication and restrictive build rules. .
Testing Phase – Test, tweak, and perfect your structure before the opening day. This is the first time teams will start to see the success or failures of their work and strive to fix anomalies and inconsistencies against the clock.
Grand Opening Day! – Everyone gathers around for the grand finale. The final "train" is launched as spectators watch-on in anticipation. Will it make it all the way through? OR will your team need to make final amendments to guide the train safely home?

The goal? A perfectly connected ride that sends your train flying through the track with speed and precision and gives rides the thrill they're looking for.
